What a great week we had in Dorset this year, despite it being one of the hottest weeks ever! Fortunately the temperature inside most of the churches was a few degrees cooler than outside, which made matters bearable. In a variety of beautiful churches, from the spacious to the positively bijou, the group enjoyed singing a wide range of musical styles and eras, from the reformation right up to the present day with a new commission of the Preces and Responses by Sarah Dacey . The congregations were very appreciative and the teas provide by parish volunteers were delicious and very gratefully received after three hours of rehearsal each day.
Enormous thanks must be extended to all the churches that hosted us this year, to Pete Cook who headed up the Tour Team, and to our organist Sam Hanson who once again accompanied our services brilliantly and treated us all to his superb closing voluntaries. We must also thank our musical director Jeremy Jackman who, as ever, directed us expertly.
