Laudemus! (Latin for ‘let us praise!’) has been singing cathedral-style choral evensong in Dorset country churches annually since 1991.
During that time we have visited over 70 village or suburban churches, sung over 160 services of choral evensong, explored music from the 15th to the 21st century and had an amazingly good time. There’s a list here of all the places we’ve visited, and you can follow the other links at the top of this page to learn more about us. If you would like Laudemus! to sing choral evensong at your church during our annual visit to Dorset, please get in touch with the administrator, Marianne Barton.
Our 2023 tour took in Bere Regis, Milton Abbey, Cerne Abbas, Shapwick and Wimborne Minster. For details of the music we sang, see our 2023 Tour page.
Our dates for 2024 (including rehearsal days) are 4–10 August. Details will be announced in February 2024.
If you’d like to sing with us, or receive an annual update about where we are singing, download a contact form. Thanks to the generosity of the Michael James Music Trust, the Ann Jane Green Trust and the Wimborne Minster Musical Heritage Trust, we are able to offer annual scholarships to those aged 18–25 and occasional bursaries to people of any age.
